Save the Dates: A New Wedding Staple

Over the past few years, save the dates have become an important part of wedding stationery. With our jam-packed schedules and busy lives, we often do not have enough time to communicate with the ones who matter most to us. Save the date cards ensure that the important people in your life attend your ceremony or reception. They also help communicate the timeline or itinerary of the event and can offer essential information including travel arrangements and hotel accommodations, which is extremely important to out of town guest or for destination weddings.

A great feature for save the dates is that they can have it's own theme or design, separate from the rest of your wedding stationery. Although you can choose to have a matching design, most couples are opting for a fun or cute alternative to the more formal designs, and more often than not, are using photos. Couples are also mixing up the type of the save the date by choosing cards, magnets, and even "out-of-the-box" items like figurines with a tag attached.

A save the should include both the bride and groom's names (no middle name and optional last name required), the event date, and where the event will take place. It is also a good rule of thumb to list hotel accommodations or any important information for out of town guests. Remember to include "invitation to follow" to let your guests know there are more details on the way.

Be In Love Designs currently offers Save the Date Magnets online and is working to add Save the Date Cards. Please remember we can create anything you are looking for, so please do not hesitate to email us at info@beinlovedesigns.com or call us at 480.463.4775 with your design request.

He Went to Jared

As Valentine's Day has passed, it reminded us of an important time in our personal lives. My husband proposed to me on Valentine's Day 2006. Yes, he got down on bended knee and asked me to marry him. Yet, he was missing a very important detail - the ring!

You see, I am a very lucky girl. After dinner (and saying yes) he took me to get the ring of my dreams at Jared Galleria. I had been helping with so many weddings before my own - both designing and planning, that I was no stranger to the wonderful world of bridal magazines. There, I tore out my dream rings - a princess cut diamond engagement ring and diamond band Tacori Rings. My husband even let me pick out the perfect diamond to fit the ring. Soon after, we went back to choose his wedding band. We also went with a Tacori ring that had plenty of detail, which we thought made our rings go together.

Now we chose Jared simply because they carried Tacori. But after shopping for the most important jewelry of our lives, we now know why we will continue to always shop there. Not only was the customer service exceptional, but they also offer an extended service plan.

Over two years later, the extended service plan is proving to be worth it. My husband had roughed up his ring so bad it was shaped more like an egg than a ring. Jared happily sent it back to Tacori to make it look new again - at no additional cost other than the original purchase of the plan. It is also very affordable - anywhere $20 - $350 depending on the cost of the piece.
If you are shopping for your wedding bands, we highly recommend Jared Galleria. For more information please visit http://www.jared.com/ and http://www.tacori.com/

Wedding Cake Card Box Winner

Congratulations to Elizabeth MeKenzie of Glendale! She entered our contest for a free wedding cake card box at the January Bridal Show. Her colors are cream and rust and she is getting married on November 14th.

A wedding cake card box is actually a good keepsake item. We reuse our cake card box for birthdays, and will also use it at my sister's baby shower. Each layer can stack inside itself for easy storage.

Anyone who is interested in a customized wedding cake card box can contact us for more information. We will use your colors and design ideas to make your card box just the way you want.

Fainting Videos

I thought it would be fun to share videos on our blog. This one is a bunch of people fainting at the alter. Why would you want to see this? (C'mon, relieve some stress and laugh a little!) But really it teaches an important lesson that you should pass on to everyone in your wedding party.

DON'T LOCK YOUR KNEES WHILE STANDING AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFOREHAND!

It is very rare and usually only happens in combination with stress (that causes you to forget to move), heat (the hot day already makes you more susceptible to fainting), and poor circulation.

Invitation Etiquette : Declining Gifts

Recently one of my brides had asked for some help with her invitation wording. She wanted to tell her guests that they did not want any gifts and that their presence at the wedding was enough. I thought I would share some of the information online regarding this, since I had not come across this very often.

Gift Declining Wording Ideas
  • We wish to share our happiness with you, our family and friends. No gifts please.
  • The only gift you should bring is yourself.
  • The only gift we request is the gift of your presence.
  • No gifts please.
  • Your friendship and good wishes are the best gifts that we could hope to receive.
  • Your warmhearted wishes would be our most cherished gift.
  • Please let your good wishes be your only gifts to us.
  • Please let your good wishes for our future together be your only gift to us.
  • May the presence of your company be your only gift to us.
