The Office Wedding: Forever on the Dance Floor

If you watched the Office on NBC last night, then you got to see a hilarious episode and (finally!) the wedding of Jim and Pam. I, like many of you, loved it. I loved that Jim cut his tie after Pam ripped her veil. I loved that they snuck off and got married on their own. I also love that they still came back to the planned ceremony and didn't care that the wedding party was pulling some pranks.

The dancing down the isle was taken from a couple who was married earlier this year. I overheard some people talking and they sad, "Wouldn't that just suck if you were the couple they were mocking on the Office?"

I disagree. Copying is the biggest form a flattery. Yes, they were doing it more for a huge laugh on the show, but obviously they wanted something to make the moment special on TV. I actually give props to the bride and groom who originally did it. What a great idea that made the ceremony special, and definitely not boring. We say take a cue from this offbeat couple. Celebrate your day in a way that is uniquely you!

Thriller Wedding Dance

Along with everyone else, we are mourning the death of the great Michael Jackson. Although he had a questionable lifestyle, no one can deny he was a great entertainer, maybe even the best. We are happy that news and other shows are sharing a positive light on his life and celebrating him as the wonderful artist he was. We can't think of a better way to pay our respects than showing the dance that has become a wedding staple (not to mention the most genius of videos that scared me as a kid!) Michael Jackson, you will be missed!

Awesome Save the Date Video

We were just introduced to this novel idea of doing a video Save the Date Announcement, and we think it's pretty cool. While looking through these videos, we found one that was just to awesome not to share. (The announcer just puts the cherry on top.)

Video: Perfect Bows

Out of all the questions a client asks me when we do a consultation for wedding invitations, the most common has to be about tying bows. I understand the frustration in making a perfect bow - for the longest time I couldn't get it to not sit crooked.

Well, here is my secret to learning how to tie the perfect bow on your invitations or other wedding stationery: you tube! I first watched this, and then practiced along while watching, pausing and rewinding as needed.

I hope this helps all the "do it yourself-ers" out there. I now always get perfect bows and hopefully you will too.

Fainting Videos

I thought it would be fun to share videos on our blog. This one is a bunch of people fainting at the alter. Why would you want to see this? (C'mon, relieve some stress and laugh a little!) But really it teaches an important lesson that you should pass on to everyone in your wedding party.

DON'T LOCK YOUR KNEES WHILE STANDING AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFOREHAND!

It is very rare and usually only happens in combination with stress (that causes you to forget to move), heat (the hot day already makes you more susceptible to fainting), and poor circulation.
