Trends We Love: Modern Coed Baby Showers

Many expecting couples are ditching the old fashioned idea that a baby shower is only for the girls. Sure, most of the games and "cutesy" things at the showers cater to the ladies, but who says they have to? After all, the guy definaetly had a part in the making of the baby!

Many of our friend and family have been pregnant lately and we have been attending their coed baby showers.  Less games with more food and drinks to keep the party going are the trend. (Yes, please retire the "smell the dirty diaper and guess what chocolate bar it is" game. So over it.)  Of course there is still the traditional opening of gifts. Who can resist all those minature clothes?

When planning your coed baby shower, it is important to design a party that will make both women and men want to come. Don't think that you are trapped with the traditional light blue or light ink colors. Bold, bright colors add punch and shout fun.

Inspiration Board #2 - Black and White on a Budget

Everyone of us is on a budget in these hard times. Yet you can have an amazing wedding for little cost with the right planning. Do-It-Yourself projects and keeping things simple can bring down cost like a melting ice cream cone. A great way to do that is to have a classic black and white wedding.

The only thing that you'll be missing out on is the time-consuming search for the right color! It will be a breeze keeping the color scheme through the many different products and fabrics you'll use in your wedding. Black and white accessories, flowers, shoes, and invites are easy to find everywhere. Get inspired to turn your budget wedding into a classic, yet unforgettable one.

Inspiration Board #1: Magenta, Navy Blue & Silver

Hello lovely blog readers! We have been wanting to do our own inspiration boards for a while now, and we are happy to share with you the first. Of course all of the images and colors are from our wedding. The wedding was the inspiration for the business, after all!
When it came time to plan, I knew I wanted my favorite colors, blue and pink. I was good with Magenta, but decided to go with Navy Blue instead of my favorite "Electric" Royal Blue for fear it would turn out to be an 80's looking wedding. Silver, or Platinum as I like to think, was the perfect compliment to these colors and served as a base color when needed.
I hope you enjoy these photos and get inspiration to design your own wedding.

Inspiration Boards

A current trend we love is putting together an Inspiration Board. An Inspiration Board is simple. It is a collection of words and photos that inspire what you want to create or achieve. This idea isn't really new. One of my most talked about loves, the Secret, mentions to do an Inspiration Board for the goals you want to reach in your life. I have also heard of doing this with work and other areas of interest. (I currently have an inspiration board in my office, illustrating everything from what I want my business to become as well as achievements I would like to see succeed.)

The newest twist with these inspiration boards is many creative people are using them to help understand the tone they want to set for a wedding or event. Brides can easily envision their wedding with photos from various magazines or online articles. Don't be afraid to also use words or quotes that you feel captures your mood.

Be In Love Designs is going to start our own Inspiration Boards on the blog soon. For now, we would like to give credit to http://greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com/2009/01/inspiration-board-9-fresh-green-romance.html for the following Inspiration Board. It was something I found while looking for yellow and green Inspiration Boards online and I thought it was fabulous.
